Chief of Technology - CTO - VP Engineering - London
Page Executive are proud to be partnered with Conversocial on the executive search of a Chief of Technology - CTO - Conversocial are a global provider of social customer software.
CTO Key Responsibilities:
We're looking for an exceptional leader to join the company and help shape how Conversocial grows over the coming years. The role is focused on three main areas:
- Technical Leadership - the CTO / VP will act as the ultimate decision maker with regards to overall technical direction and architecture. They should be able to take input from Team Leads and Senior Engineers, draw on their own experiences and combine all of this with their knowledge of where the company is heading to ensure that key technical decisions are made according to a clear, overarching, technical vision.
- Technology stack is primarily Python with MongoDB on the backend and ReactJS on the frontend. We are deployed on AWS. There are a number of other technologies floating about that are aimed at solving specific problems: e.g. Solr
- Internal Leadership - CTO / VP who can lead - and be seen as a leader by everyone in the engineering team. They will be capable of of inspiring, motivating and supporting the team on a day-to-day basis in their continued quest for greatness. You will be responsible for developing plans to help this team progress and grow as engineers and leaders as well as leading the search for fresh new talent to join our family.
- External Leadership - You will be capable of, presenting the views of the engineering team and the Technical Vision to the rest of the Executive team (board meetings), and working with that group to set the overall strategy and direction for the company.
Advantage but not essential - The business is moving towards AI Machine Learning, Analytic experience with this would be an advantage.
The Team
The engineering team at Conversocial currently consists of 24 engineers and we expect this to grow to 40 people by the middle of 2019.
- The team has a wide range of experience and everyone has a desire to continue to learn and grow.
- We believe that the engineering team should be heavily involved in the product process. Engineers are actively engaged in the Product Design processes and have a real say in what is ultimately built and how it's built because we believe that our team does their best work when they're truly engaged and believe in what they are building.

CTO Key Skills:
- Held the position of CTO / Technical Director / VP Engineering, leading a team of teams.
- Solid hands-on experience in web based software development
- 3+ Years in a SaaS company
- Strong technical background with extensive experience with our core technologies and AWS
- Experience with Test driven development and automated testing
- In-depth knowledge of best practice security coding standards
- Experience developing in Agile environments such as Scrum and Kanba
