If so, the position of Director of Open Programmes at Imperial College Business School could be the perfect opportunity for you. We are looking for someone with ambition to grow a business and do something very special – perhaps even unique – in the field of Executive Education.

Imperial College Business School is a specialist provider of Executive Education, with an emphasis on strategy and innovation, healthcare, engineering and technology. We combine the best of a leading business School and one of the world’s leading STEM Universities. Recent success and significant aspirations for the future have led to our search for a Director to further drive our development and reputation.

In this exciting role you will lead the development, marketing and sales, and launch of our new and accelerate the growth of our existing portfolio of open enrolment programmes. You will be accountable for the revenue, profitability and quality of both the Open Enrolment Programmes portfolio. You will also be part of the Executive Education management team. Main responsibilities will include:

  • Defining the strategy for the portfolio
  • Leading the implementation in all aspects
  • Managing large programme teams, ensuring that the portfolio is attractive and relevant to the targeted audience and builds on Imperial’s strengths.
  • Developing new corporate clients for whom our programmes are key to their L&D
  • Developing local and international partnerships (with Schools, universities and other relevant Executive Education players) and structuring agreements for profitable and sustainable cooperation and projects in the Open Programmes space

Essential requirements:

  • Ability to think creatively and strategically and act proactively with a high sense of commitment.
  • Experience in a similar role, or substantial relevant experience including direct commercial experience, driving business growth and profit
  • Proven successful experience of managing business units, budgets and marketing/business development teams at a high level within a business school or commercial training organisation context
  • Proven track record of success in a B-to-C business and B-to-B sales
  • Well developed knowledge and experience of management development process and practice.
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Entrepreneurial drive and initiative.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and networking skills
  • Experience and skills of operating effectively in a large complex organisation + broad sector/commercial awareness
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with faculty
