Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working on an Exclusive Retained basis with Kyocera Unimerco Ltd, in their search for an Internal Operations Manager.

Kyocera Unimerco Ltd. manufactures, distributes and services tools for machining; primarily for the metal, woodworking, automotive, aerospace, power generation and fluid power industries.

This is a newly created and pivotal role within the Senior Management team and requires a highly commercial, driven and career focused individual to work alongside the existing Senior Management team to deliver the company's clear and ambitious growth plans.

About the Role:

This is a multi-faceted role, the successful Internal Operations Manager will be responsible for the efficient operation of all internal functions and facilities management at the Sheffield branch. You will be required to work to agreed KPI targets and within budgets.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for the daily management of all internal based personnel consisting of 13 people across 3 departments and take an active role within the Management Team, supporting and helping to implement the business's growth aims.

You will be pivotal in ensuring the highest standard of service is delivered to their customers, suppliers and externally based sales team. Additionally, you will be responsible for the ongoing coaching and development of each of the internal teams, promoting team working and efficiencies where possible.

You will direct, monitor and control, through Dept Co-Ordinator's, all internal performance of allocated functions and ensure they are fully operational, and able to meet the daily workload volumes through correct resource planning.

Breakdown of key areas of responsibility

Internal Sales
Managing, supporting and developing a team of Internal Sales executives in the delivery of a high-performance sales administration and customer service function.

Purchasing
Managerial control of the procurement function, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services needed to maintain adequate stock availability for the customers

Consignment & vending
You will control and manage, through a small Consignment team, all externally held stocks, distributed manually and via Robocrib vending machines. Management of obsolete stock with a drive for reduction.

Facilities management
Incorporating buildings, equipment and outsourced services; you will ensure all regular maintenance work is planned and carried out, responding to breakdowns and faults promptly. Negotiating best price and terms with outsourced contractors.

Objectives for this role

To improve the level of professionalism of the internal departments (3yr plan) with a key focus on providing a firm platform for supporting the branches national development over the next 3-5 years.

Expansion of the External Sales workforce will place greater demand on the service provided by internal support functions, requiring an efficient response to quotations, ordering and customer enquiries.

Kyocera, therefore, expect the Internal Operations Manager to continuously review the performance of each team and team members, in conjunction with the department coordinators, to identifying areas for improvement, training needs, and be able to support those needs through internal shared knowledge or where necessary external training providers. Calling on your previous experience, you must be prepared to conduct regular meetings to engage internal employees on improving standards, personal development as well as communicating/interpreting the aims of the business.

As a member of the Sheffield Management Team, you will provide regular updates on the areas under your responsibility and will play a full role in developing and implementing the strategic aims of the Sheffield business.

Internal Operations Manager Requirements:

  • Previous experience managing an internal sales/customer service function is essential
  • Previous management experience in similar role, preferably within a technical sales environment
  • Excellent communicator and motivator with exceptional people management skills
  • Proven experience of developing and leading teams
  • Proven track record in developing and delivering companywide strategic goals
  • Able to implement best practice
  • Experience of managing change projects
  • Well organised, able to work under pressure for delivering on targets and deadlines
  • Able to manage a variety of changing priorities
  • You will need to be a robust, forward thinking individual. Someone able to visualise the operational picture whilst quickly mastering all aspects of the role. We are looking for an individual who can develop a plan to identify and make improvements particularly around digital efficiencies, therefore an individual with proficient IT skills is necessary.
