We believe that those in need have rights over people with wealth and power –  regardless of race, political affiliation, gender or belief.

As an independent humanitarian and development organisation, Islamic Relief has been serving humanity for 35 years. With an active presence in over 50 countries across the globe, we strive to make the world a better and fairer place for the three billion people still living in poverty.

Since we received our first donation in 1984, we have helped millions of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people. Inspired by the Islamic faith and guided by our values, we believe that people with wealth have a duty to those less fortunate.

Our projects provide vulnerable people with access to vital services and we protect communities from disasters and deliver life-saving emergency aid. We provide lasting routes out of poverty and empower vulnerable people to transform their lives and their communities.

We are looking to appoint a new Chief Operating Officer to lead our Finance, IT, People & Culture and Facilities Teams. The COO will provide leadership, inspiration and direction to enable IRW to fulfil its vision, mission, global strategy and yearly objectives. As the deputy to the CEO where necessary, and a key member of our senior leadership team, this role offers a unique challenge for a strategic individual with a genuine commitment to the world’s most vulnerable.

You will be a dynamic and inspiring leader with a track record of strategic leadership gained in a range of complex organisational settings. You will bring commercial acumen with experience of managing critical support functions with strong financial literacy skills. You will be an experienced leader with strong interpersonal skills as well as the ability to lead, inspire and motivate directly managed, cross organisational teams and external audiences.

If you are committed to serving the millions trapped in poverty and suffering, then we look forward to hearing from you.
