Our client is a niche Project Management Company based in the City. Specialising in the science, research, and education sectors. They are now looking to strengthen their team by appointing a Project Director with the various responsibilities as outlined below

Responsibilities:

Strategy and Leadership

  • Strategic delivery lead for all aspects of the Project.
  • Engage with Consultants all other Contractors at a senior /board level and establish and manage long term strategic relationships to ensure delivery to cost programme and quality.
  • Lead the team with a positive team ethos including the contractors and all other members of project team
  • Support the Development Lead - on the preparation, approval and maintenance of a detailed Project Brief and its delivery. Look for opportunities to improve development value and develop these.
  • Contribute towards achieving all necessary planning consents; ensure all obligations and conditions complied with.

Management of the works

  • Work closely with contractors to optimise the programme, whilst taking VE opportunities, ensuring quality standards are maintained and that all work is carried out safely.
  • Plan and manage all non-contractor works and ensure their successful integration into the programme of works.
  • Carry out regular site visits to understand progress, look at opportunities and to maintain a high standard of awareness of current project issues.
  • Work in the establish project meeting and reporting arrangements. Review and recommend improvement or development to these. Regular project meetings to be held, formal progress reports to be obtained from all members of team.
  • Lead role in project delivery and construction expert in the client team and become go-to 'expert' for all matters of construction delivery, Design and Build, Construction Management, etc.

Professional team

  • Lead and motivate professional team and design activities to achieve project time and product objectives.
  • Review and restate consultant deliverables
  • Review consultant performance, recommend appointment review and where appropriate recommend new consultants for both current and future works.
  • Establish and agree clear roles and responsibilities amongst professional team. Ensure all scope of services reflect this.
