Chief Information Officer
Creating the conditions for innovation through IT
Technology and connectivity are essential to the future success of the University of the West of England (UWE) and its vision of being truly digitally enabled. As Chief Information Officer, you will lead on the development and delivery of an integrated Information Technology Service (ITS) strategy. At the same time, as a member of the university’s senior leadership team, you will be directly involved in devising and achieving the University’s wider strategic goals. Bringing together technology and organisational development, this role offers genuine scope to transform a major UK university.
Success in this critical leadership role demands innovation and creativity as well as the ability to form strong partnerships and productive working relationships. You’ll need substantial senior-level experience of strategic IT management in a large, complex and changing organisation. This should be backed by the ability to influence and motivate people at all levels and a strong commitment to the aims and values of higher education.
A skilled advocate and negotiator, you have the communication skills to drive change. With a strong focus on the customer, you’ll understand how IT can deliver the vision of the university and meet the needs of its staff, students and stakeholders. Excellent problem-solving and project management skills are essential. Experience of managing resources and budgets is vital.
We're a dynamic and modern university proudly responsible for preparing 29,000 students from 140 countries to take their next steps. With strong global and local connections, we offer an inspiring, diverse work environment where you can make your mark working alongside over 3,000 staff members passionate about higher education.
