Head of Software Development  – Dubai

This role will be responsible for the evolving infrastructure technology roadmap and the development of an ecommerce team of c.35 engineers across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the production, evolution and delivery of the Engineering Roadmaps and Products within the given areas – ensuring business and IT goals are met
• Deliver new solutions aligned to the product roadmaps to an agreed schedule, ensuring all products are supported and maintained by vendors.
• Manage the delivery of software and architecture projects to the agreed scope, on time and budget. Ensure that all projects satisfy governance criteria.

The Person:

• Have an extensive experience in software engineering, ideally in marketplace business or a consumer internet business
• Have previously worked on developing an ecommerce platform and managing agile development teams
• Strong track record in open source architecture PHP, Golang, all in AWS
• Ability to deliver strategic overview aligned with hands on execution

The Role

Based in Dubai the assignment has an immediate start and is expected to last 6-9 months.
