Closing date

The Sales Director will be responsible for delivering profitable revenue growth and operating as an integral part of the operating board of this well known and highly respected, private equity backed business.

This role is both strategic and operational and, at its heart, is a significant people leadership challenge, organising, coaching, leading, motivating and performance managing the large sales team (100+).

The role covers sales and service, is mainly B2C in orientation, and most of the sales team are phone based.

Alongside the people leadership element of this role, the Sales Director will also need to be extremely commercial, with a strategic mind-set, capable of establishing and seeing through a new operating plan and strategic roadmap that will help the organisation to broaden its core proposition, extend its customer base and to drive a much higher quantity of repeat business and referrals, both in the UK and overseas.

Applications are welcome from proven sales and service leaders, with first class intellectual skills, and a nurturing and coaching-led management style. This is an opportunity where 'neither stick nor carrot' will be the right approach. Instead, this role requires someone who can lead from the front, bringing energy, passion, process and sophistication to a complex, high-touch, service-led sales environment.

Suitable individuals are likely to have worked in a service and sales led contact-centre before, with experience of inbound and outbound sales.

Hospitality, leisure, sports, corporate hospitality, events, exhibitions or travel are the most likely sectors from which the successful individual will come from, although no sectors will be discounted.

Along with the leadership skills and the first class intellect, will be evidence of a very stable career to date, with evidence of constant progress and huge 'stickability'.

Furthermore, it is vital that this individual possesses an excellent level of emotional intelligence and is someone likely to thrive in an environment that is informal and fun whilst also being challenging and complex.
