£50-55K Base + Bonus + Excellent Bens
My client is one of the most prestigious names in engineering. They are a world class company with an engineering pedigree that extends over a hundred years. Currently investing millions of pounds in new UK facilities and infrastructure, they now wish to hire a Project Manager to manage multiple projects as part of a multi-billion pound programme.
The Project Manager will be responsible for scoping and delivering a wide range of concurrent engineering projects. He or she will own the delivery of the projects from both an engineering and commercial standpoint, ensuring that the projects are delivered on time, to the correct specification and within budget. The projects can be very diverse in nature and could cover the full range of mechanical, structural, software and hardware engineering and system integration elements. The Project Manager will interface with a complex set of stakeholders, both internally and externally, and the role will demand good customer interfacing skills. UK wide travel will be required as this role is not about sitting in an office.
The successful candidate will probably, but not essentially, be educated to degree level and ideally will have formal project management training either though the APM or PRINCE 2, but experience of delivering complex projects is more important. He or she will be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver complex engineering programmes and to keep several plates spinning at once. No specific sector experience is required but applicants with backgrounds in aviation, transport, rail, automotive, defence or petrochemicals would probably have the appropriate experience. Strong interpersonal skills are essential as is a flexible attitude and the ability to find clarity in ambiguity. The role can be based out of a variety of offices in the UK but wherever you are based you will need to travel to different sites.
