Job Details

Our client is a high profile consumer brand who are seeking to hire a new permanent Group IT Director. The role will sit as part of the leadership team, leading on all aspects of the organisations technology. This will include setting the strategic direction for the function, across architecture, development and infrastructure.

As a well-known consumer brand with a digital presence, the role will work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer and their Brand and E-Commerce teams.

This is a great opportunity to work in a newly created role in a great brand, but a business of a size and ownership model where you can have direct influence on the business.

Person Specification

Education / Qualifications:

  • IT, Engineering, Science or Technology related degree
  • A formal Project Management qualification such as Prince2 - desirable
  • Relevant training and certification that may include CCNA; MCSE; MBCS CITP

Professional Skills/ Abilities:

  • Experience of successfully delivering business change and technology solutions implementation projects
  • A broad technical skill set including hardware/networking and software applications with the ability to learn new systems.
  • Mid to Large scale, complex project management and delivery experience

Personal Qualities:

  • Vision and ability to take a strategic approach but also not afraid of getting "stuck in" and delivering operationally
  • Worked in a consumer centric business where service excellence is business critical
  • Experience of delivering business strategy through technology implementation
  • Collaborative mind-set and ability
  • Demonstrated leadership skills up to Board level
  • Strong relationship building skills at all levels within a fast paced organisation
  • Awareness of and empathy with other cultures and business environments
  • Good commercial awareness to ensure budgets and targets are met and that all purchases achieve value for money whilst achieving the best solution
  • Effective, professional and confident decision-making skills
  • Practical hands on approach, promoting a "can do attitude" from self and subordinates through encouragement, coaching and example-setting
  • Adaptable and flexible mindset
  • Understanding customer needs and promoting excellent customer service
  • Track record of delivery within a B2C business environment
  • Ability to build talent and a strong team - ensuring that viable successors are created
  • Team management of 30+

The role offers a base salary in excess of £150,000.
