Our client is a PE-backed B2B services solutions provider who are a global leader in their field of expertise. As a result of a number of leadership changes including a new CFO, the business now seeks to hire a dynamic and experienced group financial controller to help drive and restructure the finance function and bring about sound and robust financial governance, process and systems.

The Role

The key responsibilities of the Group Financial Controller will be:

• Deliver of all management and financial reporting requirements for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Development of the Group's reporting platforms and significant improvement in analytics, KPI reporting and platform data availability. Providing clear insight into the fundamental market and performance drivers impacting the business
• Acting as a true right hand to the Chief Financial Officer in driving capability and functional excellence across the Finance function
• Ensure global statutory and filings obligations are delivered; working with Strategic Business Group and Divisional leads
• Drive the Group external audit process and Group Statutory Accounts process under IFRS
• Roll out function performance improvement programs targeting reporting excellence; compliance and risk management
• Assisting with preparation of Board Meeting packs
• Participate directly in acquisitions, due diligence and the integration, fair value and reporting of acquired companies
• Develop Group reporting and information systems and maintain data integrity as the custodian and guardian of reporting consistency and accounting standards
• Support the Chief Financial Officer in the monitoring and roll out of holistic group performance improvement programs

Skills and Experience:

• Qualified accountant with extensive post qualification experience in a variety of senior roles in PLC entities together with a detailed understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS
• Strong leadership skills with track record of developing, leading and inspiring a team
• Strong understanding of control environment, business processes and systems
• In depth understanding of the financial and commercial dynamics of a global business
• Ability to apply sound judgement to accounting situations / questions
• Ability to manage, influence and inspire Finance teams and non-Finance managers and motivate a global team
• Extensive experience in influencing and managing multiple complex relationships / stakeholders, while overcoming multiple conflicts and dependencies
• Experienced in influencing to Board Level
• Previously Built / restructured a finance team and helped raise the internal capability and reputation of a finance function
• Ability to take large amounts of complex data and quickly identify key issues and drivers
• Previous systems experience
• International experience would be an advantage
