Description

Responsibilities:

• Lead the small but growing Business Insight team in providing management information solutions and internal analytical consultancy across the business
• Build and shape the Business Insight team through recruitment and development of existing team members
• Support identification of business priorities with directors / decision makers and lead the identification of reporting and analytical needs for all functions in line with those priorities
• Liaise with tech teams to develop the tool set and systems required to meet the reporting and analytical needs of the business
• Ensure the core reporting tool sets (SQL Server database, Qlik Sense) are running smoothly and manage the handling of queries from across the business regarding access and usage
• Lead development of insight assets including KPI's, customer segmentations and customer value models
• Support the leadership team in promoting detailed data and KPI knowledge across the business
• Contribute to the development of customer and commercial awareness throughout the group

Required skills, experience and attributes:

• A relevant degree (Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science etc) or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience of developing reporting solutions and data visualisations in a variety of circumstances using business intelligence tools e.g. Qlik, Tableau, Business Objects, Cognos
• Strong commercial awareness and experienced in driving action from analysis of large and complex datasets
• Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of database design
• Ability to manage multiple insight and analytical projects at the same time
• Strong aptitude for problem solving and getting to the core of challenges
• Capable of translating business requirements into insight solutions
• Ability to build effective relationships and manage stakeholders
• Inquisitive nature and strong on independent research and self-development

Desirable skills, experience and attributes

• Managing analytical teams
• Experience coaching colleagues and/or training others to use Business Intelligence solutions
• Experience of QlikSense or QlikView
• Experience in evaluating marketing campaigns, developing statistical and commercial models and/or a background in operational research
• Knowledge of database administration and data warehousing
• Experience of using statistical software and data mining tools e.g. SAS, R, SPSS, Alteryx, Rapid Miner
