Description
I am currently recruiting Head of Regulatory Enforcement with a regulatory in either Birmingham or London (several days a week will have to be spent at both).
You will:
- Have accountability for the disciplinary decisions made by the regulators in respect of its individual and firm registrants, globally, ensuring that the regulator Rules of Conduct and related standards are upheld by the profession
- Be responsible (as manager of a small team of staff) for the prosecution of cases where a decision is made to proceed with disciplinary proceedings
- Where required, present cases at the regulator's Regulatory Tribunal
- Make key delegated regulatory decisions in accordance with the overarching the regulator's regulatory policy
- Be the technical lead within the regulator regulatory operations, when it comes to advising the institution on the enforceability of professional standards and related regulatory rules
Profile
You will have:
- Legal/Regulatory enforcement expertise
A qualified solicitor or barrister or qualified via experience of working in enforcement/supervision or investigations with extensive experience and proven expertise in regulatory investigations and legal enforcement, with a demonstrated track record in making sensitive, complex regulatory decisions under pressure.
- Analytical and investigative mindset
Able to identify and prioritise key factors in any conduct issue and arguments within a complex environment to determine a range of potential outcomes.
- Strong Communication
Strong oral and written communication skills, able to tailor message to the audience, to influence or inform with clarity and precision and in plain English.
- Management and leadership skills
The ability to manage a small team of solicitors and provide them with the necessary technical / professional support and leadership.
- Authoritative and influential
The successful candidate will demonstrate an authoritative and influential manner, able to manage priorities, and deal with complex and challenging situations calmly.
- Outcome focused
Strong understanding of the range of outcomes, their potential effectiveness and ability to deliver solutions to issues under consideration.
