Manage the Internal Audit Function of the Bank across all branches and operational units;

Implement the risk-based audit strategy across the Bank;

Ensure that the Internal Audit Function provides an independent assessment of the adequacy of the Bank's internal controls and systems and compliance with the Bank's Policies and Procedures;

Draw the attention of the Audit & Compliance Committee and Senior Management towards any weaknesses or shortcomings noticed during the course of the Audit.

Support the Chairman of the Audit & Compliance Committee in safeguarding the independence and performance of internal audit function;

Responsible for reporting to the Audit & Compliance Committee in relation to appropriateness and completeness of the Bank's systems of internal control, risk management systems, review of the reports which identifies high level control issues of significance that require or are subject to remedial action and ensures that necessary actions are being taken to remedy significant failings or weaknesses.

Responsible for reporting to the Audit & Compliance Committee in relation to adequacy and adherence across the Bank to the internal controls and systems and compliance with Bank's Policies and Procedures;

Apply a risk-based approach to the review of the systems and controls of the Bank through the development and implementation of an annual audit plan and review work;

Ensure that all risk areas are audited commensurate with their risk profile in order to ensure compliance to the relevant statues and regulations;

Provide recommendation for improving the control culture through dissemination of generic risks for appropriate action;

Report the results of the audit reviews, including management responses and proposed action plan to address issues arising, to the senior management on a constructive basis in order to develop the most appropriate and proportionate solutions to the issues arising;

Perform follow-up work and ensure effectiveness of the audit follow up process ensuring identified risks are addressed within the agreed timescale;

Escalate any failures to progress actions as Head of Internal Audit deems appropriate;

Raise the profile of risk management through Controlled Risk Self Assessments;

Provide recommendation for improving the control culture through dissemination of generic risks for appropriate action;

Evaluate new projects and business developments as they arise;

Perform ad-hoc special investigations and reviews at the request of the CEO and or Audit and Compliance Committee.

Update and monitor the risk assessment system;

Liaise with external auditors, FCA/PRA and other parties to optimise the contribution of internal audit;

Provide advice and guidance to members of relevant internal committees;

Participate by attendance in the Audit and Compliance Committee meetings;

Officiate as Secretary of the Audit & Compliance Committee in the absence of the Secretary ACC;

General responsibility for ensuring compliance with Conduct Risk Management Framework (CRMF); and

Any other assignment entrusted by the Chairman Audit & Compliance Committee/CEO/Chairman BOD.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum 15 years' experience in Auditing within the Banking sector
