The Team
Our People team forms a key part of our support function, and its most visible responsibilities are the hiring and development of our invaluable employees.
As the leader of our People function, you will be instrumental in supporting our mission and leading a healthy growth strategy in 2019 and beyond.

The Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious HR lead to join us, preferably with previous success in a growing Tech or energy company.

As our Head of People, you will have full responsibility for HR activity, with duties centring on driving people management strategies and leading the HR function, procedures and processes. This is a fantastic opportunity for an innovative HR lead to make a real impact in an growing mission-led company.

In this role, you will be a leading authority on how we scale our people management practices for the long term, including adapting our hiring strategies, managing employee benefits and promoting healthy people management practices as we grow.

This role will have line management responsibility for one HR Intern and partial line management responsibility for our Office Manager.

What You'll Do

  • Implement People strategy within the organisation and work as part of the leadership team
  • Lead and develop our HR function, including the development of HR metrics
  • Work closely with Team Leads and line managers to provide expert guidance on a variety of People matters
  • Develop effective HR procedures and policies to reflect business aims, focus and values
  • Drive an effective Learning and Development programme to enable individuals to build capabilities in line with business needs and goals
  • Work within and apply key business drivers to people management strategies
  • Develop and enhance performance review and reward programme
  • Ensure that managers and staff are fully aware of HR policies
  • Management of visa license duties and compliance, including reporting and right to work checks
  • Introduce and drive change management initiatives
  • Overall responsibility for the recruitment process
  • Oversee investigations and complex employee relations issues
  • Act as the externally facing representative for HR for the organisation
  • Coach and advise on best practice company culture and inclusiveness practice

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in a senior HR role
  • Qualified CIPD member
  • Ability to influence at all levels in a commercial environment
  • Strong track-record in HR generalist and change management roles
  • Commercial acumen and credibility, at all levels of an organisation
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Faultless communication and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough working knowledge of UK employment legislation

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a high-growth technical company
  • Line management experience
