Job Details

Do you want to play a key role in an organisation which stands up for children? Then join us as Chief Information Officer, and lead Save the Children in becoming the organisation we need to be in the digital era.

In Save the Children, we fight for children every single day. Technology is central to our work – in helping us engage the public more effectively, deliver better programmes and operate more efficiently.

As Chief Information Officer, you will bring technology to bear on all aspects of our work, making us more effective and efficient, and help us to find uniquely digital ways of doing things. You will also work with Executive Directors to define SCUK’s future vision for technology, and future operating models in a digital world.

In addition you will:

  • Work with colleagues across the Save the Children Movement (including as part of the Global Technology Leadership Team) to develop and implement a coherent systems architecture
  • Provide line management leadership of the Technology Department, and professional leadership to other technology-focused roles in SCUK, particularly the Digital team in our Fundraising and Marketing Division

To be successful you will have experience of delivering transformational change to business strategy, processes, services and systems for complex organisations. A digital evangelist, you will be experienced in shaping and promoting digital solutions and strategies both internally and externally and be comfortable working in a rapidly changing global environment.

In addition you will have:

  • Substantial experience and demonstrable success in leading the technology or digital function for a large organisation
  • Exceptional leadership skills and experience of managing digital and/or technology functions, with a proven ability to set strong direction and a compelling future vision at all levels
  • A deep understanding of the strategic role of technology in customer engagement and digital culture in supporting organisational strategy, and experience of working at a strategic level
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, ability to summarise complex issues, and tailor communications to different audiences and cultures

At Save the Children we are committed to the safeguarding and protection of children in our work. We will do everything possible to ensure that only those who are suitable to work with children are recruited to work for us. This post is subject to a range of vetting checks including a criminal records disclosure.

If you share our belief in the power of children, join the fight. It takes relentless determination, creativity and a real commitment to real change. Because every child should be able to make their mark on their world, and help to build a better future. We look forward to hearing from you.

Company

We're the world's independent children's charity. We're outraged that millions of children are still denied proper healthcare, food, education and protection. We're working flat out to get every child their rights and we're determined to make further, faster changes. How many? How fast? It's up to you.
