The Board of Directors of the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) seeks a new candidate from the United Kingdom jurisdiction to serve as Board Member for a three-year term from June 2019.
The Global LEI System provides unique identification of parties to financial transactions across the globe facilitating financial risk management, and cost reduction for businesses. GLEIF is a non-profit Swiss foundation established by the Financial Stability Board and overseen by the Regulatory Oversight Committee (71 regulators from 50 countries www.leiroc.org).
Senior candidates should have extensive knowledge and C-suite level experience in the technology, data, supply chain or financial industry. Their experience may relate directly to the following:
Technology and data:
Extensive knowledge of data standards/operations and/or technology for the Digital Economy who are able to support GLEIF’s strategy for the use of the Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) for this purpose.
Candidate from the supply chain sector (inclusive logistics) with an extensive knowledge of the supply chain (logistics) who is able to support GLEIF’s strategy for the use of the LEI for this purpose.
Candidate from the banking sector with an extensive knowledge in the area of Know Your Customer (KYC), trade finance and correspondent banking who is able to support GLEIF’s strategy for the use of the LEI for this purpose.
To achieve more diversity in the Board of Directors, female candidates are in particular encouraged to apply. The applicant should have contacts with the leaders and/or regulators in their industry and/or jurisdiction in order to serve as an effective ambassador for GLEIF. Applicants are expected to be capable and willing to take on leadership roles of chairing those Board Committees when the existing Chairs retire.
