Description

I am currently recruiting a Head of Supervision with the Pensions Regulator. You will lead and be accountable for the Supervision of regulated entities subject to Regulatory Approaches and Reactive Engagements, driving changes in behaviour to ensure the organsiation achieves its regulatory outcomes in line with our risk appetite and corporate priorities.

You will:

  • Ensure the delivery of robust, high quality supervision including taking strategic decisions on high profile/particularly contentious/novel/complex areas
  • Ensure development of an effective team, ensuring strong understanding of relevant procedures and approaches and that team members receive coaching and support to maximize their effectiveness
  • Manage the portfolio of all work and priorities within the function - including timely management, right decisions consistency and strength of engagement
  • Ensure the team successfully deliver to KPIs while identifying and reacting to risks appropriately
  • Actively lead the highest profile and most complex interventions, as well as being the point of escalation for key regulatory decisions (per TPRs schedule of delegations)
  • Representing the organisation externally, at an entity and industry level
  • Develop and deliver operational plans to manage resourcing within the area including delivering regular MI reporting against targets, meeting budget and management of performance
  • Develop strong working relationships with other teams within TPR, in particular those with engagement handovers to or from the team and as part of the feedback of strategic issues and trends to Strategy function to inform future priorities

Profile

You will:

  • Leadership experience of leading through change, fostering cultural change, embedding a continuous improvement culture and developing a high performing team
  • Experience of implementation of regulatory strategies/use different regulatory tools and implementation of risk based regulation
  • Working knowledge of pensions or other financial services, specifically experience of working on corporate financial or pension restructures in a principal or advisory capacity
  • Experience of working under pressure and managing external public scrutiny
  • Demonstrable experience of successful negotiation and influencing in a commercial or regulatory environment including experience of managing senior external relationships (to Board level) on a range of pension, banking or regulatory issues

Job Offer

£85,000 PA plus excellent benefits
