This key position has arisen as a result of expansion, diversification and significant growth for this market leading international group which operates in a range of international projects covering a broad sector spread. The company has a high quality reputation and handles projects in oil and gas, marine, power generation, energy from waste, biomass and specialist engineering. This position reports into board level and will carry responsibility for the management and upgrading of a complex international supply chain covering the provision of steel, consumables and tools to globally spread projects and a demanding client base.
Managing the procurement, logistics and inventory control functions and leading a specialist team the role calls for a proven purchasing professional with qualifications and experience that include a combination of a graduate background and formal CIPS training coupled with experience in the engineering, energy, fabrication, construction or marine sectors.
You will be a strong team leader and have real strengths in developing procurement systems and managing positive relationships with a broad ranging supplier base into a projects driven environment. You will be given scope to review supplier activity, introduce further SQA processes and efficiencies associated with world-class supplier management.
The group operates on an entrepreneurial hands-on culture and is looking for a strong communicator with a can-do attitude who can lead change whilst maintaining day to day control and achieving the KPI’s of the procurement function. You will liaise strongly with your project management colleagues, be a team player and enjoy the scope to make a difference. Some travel visiting suppliers will be expected and this is an excellent time to be joining this high growth company which offers excellent long term career prospects.
