Our client is a high growth entrepreneurial consumer products business that has a well-recognised brand and a leading position within its market. Following significant growth by the business in recent years, the business has focused on building a high calibre team and infrastructure giving it a scalable platform that can capitalise on the opportunity that exists within its market. In order to do this, the business is looking to appoint a commercial, hands-on Finance Director who will bring rigour and structure to the finance function.

As a business partner to the CEO, you will have responsibility for all financial matters relating to the business including bank relationships, recruitment, development and retention of the appropriate resource within the finance team as well as HR and IT. The ability to deliver transparency and visibility of business performance through commercial analysis, budget setting, financial controls, cost control, forecasting and monitoring KPIs will be paramount. You will play a full part in business planning, strategy development and commercial input on sales and marketing initiatives as well as developing robust financial models to allow the business to operate at its optimum efficiency.

We are looking for a highly ambitious, energetic, qualified accountant with experience of operating as a standalone FD or strong number two in a successful stock-based business or retailer. You will have a demonstrable track record in the development and application of KPIs with excellent financial and management reporting skills. A strong operational understanding preferably with export experience, you must be highly analytical in nature coupled with an informal and dynamic style with a willingness to roll your sleeves up to get things done. You will have the desire and ability to add value whilst also challenging colleagues in an effective and appropriate way to facilitate good decision making. A real team player who can work effectively at all levels within the business with strong leadership and people development skills.
