This is a senior role reporting into Board level with responsibility for the leadership of a specialist fabrication facility in South Wales. The company is part of an international engineering group and it is poised for significant growth. The production facility operates on a shift working pattern through an experienced team of c 90 colleagues and the focus to lead the team and deliver complex high specification welded structures on a well-planned, on-time and to budget basis. All scheduled work within the facility operates to rigorous quality standards and the role calls for an experience fabrications specialist with the gravitas and expertise to lead this experienced team to higher levels of performance. The clients current sectors of activity include power stations, waste to energy plants, steam boilers, pressure vessels and specialist constructions used in wide ranging applications such as oil and gas. It is essential that the facility works to industry leading quality standards and with cost and delivery KPIs that are world-class. The ideal candidate will be a proven workshop/production general manager with demonstrable success in leading high specification production activities such as this. Your career will have been developed within large and fully resourced operations which have a mix of welding codes and quality requirements. The company is geared up for significant growth, the workload is therefore high, the teams are very experienced and skilled and you will need deep and relevant experience in order to ensure success through building a high performing team. You will be a strong team leader, motivator, organiser and coach, up to date with current health & safety procedures and have a hands-on approach. You will be given lots of scope to improve and develop the workshop and you will be looking for a long term opportunity within a stable worldwide group which can offer you a strong future.
