Our client, a rapidly growing and acquisitive global manufacturing company currently turning over c. £700M and headquartered in the US, are seeking an EMEA IT Director. This is a newly created role with accountability for all EMEA IT and technology requirements. Reporting to the Global CIO and as a key member of the global IT leadership team, the role will partner with the EMEA business, shaping strategy and anticipating the future technology needs of the organisation to add real value and keep ahead of the competitive curve.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Act as a valued member of the global IT leadership team to help shape group IT strategy
  • Lead the EMEA IT organisation across business systems, infrastructure and end-user support teams
  • Lead EMEA application deployments delivery and support teams in collaboration with colleagues in the Americas and Asia Pacific (SAP, CRM and BI etc.)
  • Effectively partner the EMEA business to ensure that technology is best supporting the business and to drive innovative solutions to anticipate future business needs, focused on value outcomes
  • Develop and nurture IT talent in a matrix set-up, growing the organizations capabilities
  • Review and refine the security and disaster recovery strategy to ensure the safety, reliability and robustness of business systems within the EMEA region in line with global strategy
  • Break down complex IT strategies and programs into simple-to-understand plans for the business
  • Effectively manage the EMEA IT budget and build business cases for investment

Experience / Skills:

  • A broad understanding of all aspects of technology across infrastructure, applications, BI, security and service provision.
  • Experience of working successfully and leading major change programmes in matrix structures and building business networks to influence technology contribution and deliver real commercial benefit
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills, relationship building, and gravitas and credibility to influence stakeholders at Executive level
  • Strong experience of leadership and management of large, cross-functional teams in multiple locations, building capability and shaping teams to best align to business strategies
  • Experience of acquisitions and integrations would be advantageous

  • Excellent leadership skills, with management experience managing cross-functional teams in different locations and matrix environments, navigating global structures
  • Collaborative, motivated, and results driven individual who enjoys a challenging environment and is able to work flexibly
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment , exercising sound judgement and make accurate and timely decisions
  • Strong commercial acumen and business focus
