fdu's Client, one of the UK's most talked about Creative Communications Agency is looking to hire a high-calibre, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), to act as a true business partner to the Chief Executive and to work closely with the Senior Leadership team in executing an ambitious strategy. Headquartered in Central London, this is a super opportunity to join a leading scale-up which is expected to grow rapidly in the next few years.

Main Responsibilities

  • Financial Control, Reporting & Operations.
  • Commercial Support.
  • Partner with Resourcing, New Business, Legal and Operations to ensure success.
  • Develop and prepare monthly Financial Planning and Analysis reporting.

Skill Sets and Experience

  • Degree educated.
  • Fully qualified accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA with a minimum of 8-10 years combined financial management experience.
  • Experience of working within a time billing and project based environment, likely gained from experience in any of the following industries - PR, Publishing, Digital, Media, Production, Professional Services, Agency, and Brand.
  • A solid appreciation of financial reporting and the application of financial data to ensure good business decision-making.
  • Demonstrable experience of implementation and subsequent management of rigorous and scalable controls and processes.
  • Verifiable leadership and management experience having previously built and run highly efficient Finance teams.
  • Comprehensible finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control experience.
  • Ideally have previously helped to manage companies through significant organic growth, and have supported integration.
  • The experience of having taken a company through a successful exit would be of value.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with the leadership team, senior executives, non-executives and external advisors as well as the wider business.
  • Dynamic and energetic, and motivated by working in a fast-growth environment, ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision making.
  • Willing to get into the detail to understand issues at a granular level.
