Charity Bank is about much more than ethical banking. We exist to respond to real social needs by using the money that our savers entrust to us to make loans to organisations that are improving lives and supporting communities. Our vision is a world where charities and other social purpose organisations can access the financial resources they need to create a better society for all.

Since 2002, we have used the money saved with us to provide over £225 million of loan finance to support organisations that are working to enrich our society and tackle its greatest challenges. Our loans support a wide range of organisations across the arts, community, education, environment, faith, health, housing, regeneration, social care and sports sectors.

As Charity Bank moves towards sustained profitability, what more can we do for our client base in order to become the undisputed leading bank for the sector? As Chair you will have the opportunity to lead Charity Bank in meeting this challenge, supporting the future financing needs of the social sector and in championing our belief that banking can be a tool for good.  Our borrowers, savers, investors and dedicated staff are all working to ensure that charities and social enterprises will always be there for the people and communities that need them.

This is an exciting and pivotal time to join a unique organisation which blends commercial drive and experience with an ethical response to real social needs. Charity Bank has a diverse stakeholder group which covers a range of social purpose investors, regulators, the social investment community and the broader charity and social sectors.  You would join a community of like-minded individuals all working towards one goal, driving forward the highest standards of governance and developing and supporting a high calibre Board and Executive team.
