Foundation for FutureLondon
Created in 2015 by the Mayor of London and London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) as the charity devoted to supporting East Bank (https://www.future.london/), Foundation for FutureLondon's objective is to build relationships, convene partners and stakeholders, cultivate private sector funding, and support partnerships among cultural and educational organisations throughout the Park and East London. We want to make sure the communities of the neighbouring four boroughs (Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest) have access to, and are totally engaged with, one of the most ambitious regeneration projects in Europe.
East Bank partners - the BBC, the London College of Fashion, the Smithsonian Institute, University College London (UCL), Sadlers Wells and the Victoria and Albert Museum - are committed to developing people, programmes and facilities that will contribute towards job creation, skills development and local regeneration. Together these organisations are forming a new powerhouse with exciting potential for East London's economic, social and cultural life. The new, globally significant buildings that will emerge on the Stratford Waterfront will enable the best possible creative and educational interaction with the culturally diverse communities close to the park. A compelling, in-depth creative and educational engagement programme will be the cornerstone of the success of this venture, before a first brick is laid. We are now looking for a committed, creative Executive Director to support the delivery of this complex, large-scale, multifaceted project.
The ideal candidate will be an inspirational and inclusive leader, able to convey their firm belief in these ambitious plans as we grow from small start-up to influential force over the next few years. They will bring a track record of successfully undertaking the role of enabler and catalyst for community and cultural development and must be able to demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of how to harness the collective energy and talent of all stakeholders involved.
As well as these highly developed communication and convening skills, the Executive Director will also be charged with the responsibility for developing, leading and implementing our fundraising strategy. They will additionally have the proven capability to develop creative cultural and educational programming that is insight-led, impact-focused, relevant and diverse.
Passion for culture, education, and effective, sustainable regeneration will be vital. So too will be the experience of working productively with central government, local authorities, cultural and community organisations, artists, educators, and communities from a wide range of cultural and ethnic identities.
If you are excited by this opportunity and have the experience required to help Foundation for FutureLondon become a thriving, community-oriented and well-respected charity, then we would be delighted to hear from you.
