Senior Consumer Research Adviser
Client Details
City regulator
Description
I am currently recruiting a 12 month fixed term contract for a Senior Consumer Research Adviser for the city regulator.
The qualitative research for Financial Lives has two main objectives: 1) to fill evidence gaps and complement the quantitative research, and 2) to provide communications material for internal and external events to support the roll-out and accessibility of the second wave of Financial Lives.
The qualitative research is an important component of the Financial Lives programme, but you will also be involved in managing parts of the quantitative research.
For information on Wave 1, please see:
https://www.fca.org.uk/publications/research/understanding-financial-lives-uk-adults.
The support you will provide will include:
- Planning, contract management, analysis and reporting of research studies, especially the qualitative components
- Ensuring the qualitative research complements the quantitative research
- Advising colleagues (and external stakeholders and commentators) on Financial Lives and financial services research in general, with an emphasis on qualitative techniques, insights and outputs
- Commenting on and contributing to proposals, papers or reports for internal and/or external publication
Profile
You will have:
- Relevant market research agency experience, or you have worked as a research practitioner in a client organisation.
- Significant qualitative research expertise and experience, especially in commissioning and managing such studies.
- While this is not a qualitative practitioner role, it would be an advantage to have experience in designing qualitative research materials, such as recruitment screeners and topic guides, and to have authored reports based on qualitative research data. You will need to demonstrate the ability to challenge agencies on the quality of the materials and reports that they produce.
- Relevant experience in day-to-day management of qualitative research agencies, to ensure their work is meeting our business objectives.
- Relevant experience in collating qualitative research findings, to facilitate analysis.
- Ability to interpret qualitative research findings and effectively communicate insight, including the integration of qualitative and quantitative findings to tell a compelling story.
