Finance Manager

Based in Watford, Hertfordshire, our client is an established and recognisable company looking for a Finance Manager join their team on a permanent basis.

This job would suit a Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA or ACMA) who will be responsible for providing insightful and detailed financial information to senior stakeholders, incorporating weekly and periodic reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting activities and ad hoc analysis.

This company is a successful SME with sites across the UK with ambitious plans for expansion and development.

The successful individual will be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or ACMA) have great communication skills with experience managing stakeholders and excellent working relationships with Business Partners. The candidate must have a strong finance background with the ability to challenge business processes and find improvements. It is essential the candidate can work well under pressure and is able to influence and manage people. The successful individual will have advanced Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel and a strong financial background with a highly analytical mind set.

Duties will include:

  • Lead and manage the Finance Department
  • Productive member of the executive management team
  • Lead and manage the finance department
  • Ensure efficient and accurate delivery of work from the finance team
  • Ensuring the timely & accurate preparation of monthly management accounts and finance board pack including all results, analysis of variances / trends & commentary
  • Responsible for the provision of financial planning and strategic analysis in forecasting, budgeting for both short and long term, engaging in cost reduction analysis and reviewing operation performance
  • Provide timely and accurate financial information to the group and divisional directors
  • Liaison with banks, auditors, tax partners etc.
  • Assist with acquisitions and disposals
  • Provide financial information to the CEO and board when required
  • Prepare VAT returns and related reconciliations
  • Prepare and submit monthly payroll and pension
  • Look to improve processes and procedures throughout the organisation
  • Prepare and submit monthly payroll and pension
  • Provide financial management information as required for Directors and presentations
  • Own and drive the year end Audit
