Help Musicians UK
Help Musicians UK is the leading UK charity for professional musicians of all genres and all career stages, from starting out through to retirement. We can help at times of crisis, but also at times of opportunity, giving people the extra support they need at a crucial stage that could make or break their career.
Specifically, we can help emerging professionals to develop their talent and get started in a professional career. We help existing professionals who hit a crisis in their lives which can have a devastating effect on their career and families. We help with long-term or terminal illness and we help musicians in retirement and those needing special help as they grow older.
The charity works in partnership to create a sustainable future for all musicians and the industry, supporting those who work in the music industry through health and welfare services, campaigning, creative programmes and targeted investment initiatives.
The last few years have seen tremendous growth for the charity: in 2016 we introduced an ambitious five-year strategy leading up to our centenary, Agenda 2021, which outlines how we can extend our reach and support to musicians across the UK. In 2017, we launched the most comprehensive mental health service the industry has ever seen - Music Minds Matter.
We are looking for an inspirational senior leader with a proven track record of turning vision into reality, experience of developing and leading effective teams and strong strategic and commercial acumen. Further experience of working with a Board of Trustees, of effective public communication and of cultivating and managing effective joint ventures and partnerships.
