The Norse Group is looking to appoint a Group HR Director to lead the HR function and to help develop and steer its strategic direction. The Group HR Director is a pivotal role and you will be an inspirational ambassador for the Group working collaboratively within the Executive Team. You will lead the development of a high impact, customer focused HR service and be expected to develop and implement an ambitious people strategy to ensure there is organisational capability to deliver the Group business strategy.

Leading a large HR team, your vision will provide direction, purpose and a culture of high performance, built upon continuous development and innovation. Well networked, you will strengthen the Group’s national reputation, building people skills and knowledge to complement this reputation. Reporting directly to the Group MD, you can expect to network across regional and national boundaries in order to promote and influence business growth and support the Executive team to deliver a commercial offering to customers. With proven project management skills, you will also support the gap-analysis of internal policies and procedures, promoting and driving digitalisation.

The Group will look to you to develop and implement effective workforce planning to attract, retain and develop the best talent. You will identify and agree succession planning priorities with the Executive Team providing appropriate learning and development support. You will also develop and maintain a performance focused reward strategy and be passionate about developing effective wellbeing strategies.

The Group HR Director will be degree educated and CIPD qualified and have a substantial track record as a people leader for a similar sized multi-brand, multi-site national organisation and direct experience of leading, motivating and managing a large team of staff to provide an effective strategic and operational HR function.

The successful candidate will be focused on best practice and have the ability to process, summarise and communicate complex information effectively and be able to demonstrate experience of leading change at an executive level, and be comfortable managing and monitoring budgets.

With highly developed communication skills, your ability to develop effective and authentic relationships with stakeholders will be paramount, as will your ability to influence and collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams.

There will also be an opportunity for an informal discussion with the current Group HR Director prior to the second stage interview.
