OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Location: Cambridge

Salary: Up to £110k (dependant on experience)

We are currently seeking an Operations Director to provide leadership and management of the Operations department across Product Engineering, DFT/Test Engineering, Quality/Reliability Engineering and Planning/Logistics for a global player in the semiconductor and software technology market.

The Operations Director plays a critical role within the business with a focus on the quality, manufacture and delivery of products through global supply chain partners to the agreed forecast and required level of quality. Whilst providing effective leadership and line management; the Operations Director will not only negotiate product supply contracts and pricing, but also ensure the qualification of new products and reliability is kept at appropriate standards.

The successful candidate will have a technical background from working in a fabless semiconductor/semiconductor environment with a proven track record in delivering products to stringent standards. Having strong negotiation skills and ability to influence large global partners is important; whilst prioritising the key objectives of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate global supply chain partners to deliver product in line with agreed forecast and purchase orders
  • Negotiate product supply contracts and pricing to achieve business cost targets.
  • Manage logistics partners to configure and deliver products on-time and to agreed levels of quality.
  • Manage the NPI from package design, DFT and tape-out through production release.
  • Direct day to day activities and provide input and leadership to ensure team objectives are met and to improve the overall efficiency of the department and projects.
  • Actively participate in staff planning and recruitment activities and act as coach and mentor to other staff to support their career and professional development
  • Managing budgets, risks, issues, dependencies and schedules in accordance with corporate and project/program requirements.
  • Have the strength and conviction to make and stand by decisions that may be unpopular with others.
  • Be an ambassador for the business by establishing and developing key partner and external customer relationships as required.
