Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of mental health, learning disability and eating disorder services for the people living in County Durham, Darlington, the Tees Valley and most of North Yorkshire. We are also one of the leading and most successful such Trusts in the country.
With over 6,500 staff, an annual operating income of over £300 million and a ‘good’ CQC rating, we deliver our services by working in partnership with local authorities and clinical commissioning groups, a wide range of other providers including voluntary organisations and the private sector, as well as service users, their families and carers, and the public.
Our values are really important to us. Our key concern is the quality of the patient experience - we’re about people first. We believe that the way a NHS Foundation Trust works helps us to continuously improve the quality of our services responsively and in partnership with what local people want from their mental health provider.
We are seeking to appoint a Chair who will use their expertise, passion and commitment to lead and support the organisation through what will be one of the most challenging and rewarding periods in our history. The successful candidate will need to provide exceptional leadership to the Foundation Trust Board and the Council of Governors.
Previous experience gained in board level leadership roles in complex organisations is therefore essential, but equally important is that you share our values and can relate to people at all levels.
Candidates must be resident in the area served by the Trust or adjacent to it for practical reasons. We value and promote diversity, are committed to equality of opportunity for all and all appointments are made on merit.
The closing date for application is Friday 23rd November 2018
Final interviews will be held on Friday 25th January 2019
