The scale of this ambition is significant and unparalleled. Our Estates Transformation Directorate is highly focussed, and we need people who will make a difference. Our vision is to help people be the best they can be by developing and delivering best in class working environments that create an enduring legacy.

At this exciting time for HMRC and the directorate we wish to appoint a Director of Estates Transformation to lead the overall strategy and delivery of this programme, leading a large team made up of civil servants, consultant partners and on-site contractors. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of a number of large construction, fit-out and refurbishment projects in line with HMRC’s estate transformation ambitions, managing engagement and negotiation with contractors and local authorities, and supporting the transition of a vast workforce into the new regional hubs.

You will be an experienced leader of property and estates delivery and transformation programmes, with a complete understanding of the development lifecycle and experience of providing oversight to complex construction and fit-out projects. You will bring a proven leadership capability, with the necessary gravitas and expertise to manage a large, geographically dispersed team, and will be comfortable and credible engaging with senior stakeholders both within government and within specialist consultancy and contracting organisations.
