With College Campuses at Ware and Broxbourne, Hertford Regional College is a vibrant, dynamic further education college with over 6,000 students across two campuses with ambitious growth and development targets.

Overview of the job

You will be required to lead, manage and motivate the Finance Team to deliver a high quality, customer focused service on all financial matters to internal and external customers of the College.

You will take responsibility for the financial and management accounting, ambitious Capital Investment Plan and ensure that all statutory and legislative requirements are fully met.

The successful candidate will lead and manage the provision of an effective and efficient Finance and Procurement service to support the vision and mission of the College and its subsidiary companies.

The Person

A Fully Qualified finance professional, you should hold a track record of inspirational leadership. You’ll bring sound experience of managing a finance team, the monthly management accounts process, annual capital and revenue budget process and have first-rate communication and negotiation skills.

Your skills will include the ability to take a process versus functional view and you will be comfortable managing continuous improvement. The College has a hands-on, problem solving team culture, so it is essential that you have the ability to go in and solve problems, and coach and influence others to step up and continue the improvement process. Being able to demonstrate excellent report writing and presentation skills are essential to this role.
