Manager - Commercial Analysis
Our Client a private equity-backed operates within the premium casual dining market in the UK, and is based in South West London. The business includes gourmet restaurants and a range of casual dining venues, with c.40 sites in total. The Group is committed to the continued growth of its brands, with double digit growth in revenue and over 20% growth in profits in the last financial year, as well as a pipeline of successful openings in 2018 and beyond.
We are now looking for an ambitious, high quality candidate to operate as a commercial analyst, who will work closely with the Finance Director to drive analytics across the business. The role is hands on, and operates across various departments in the business, to ensure that commercial decisions are based off good analytics. You will create and review KPIs around actual weekly gross margins versus theoretical gross margins to include management of surpluses and deficits and variances on key line counts. You would also need to understand and challenge weekly labour results, collate and analyse weekly profit trackers including commentary on material variances. On top of this you will also be involved with menu development within the business, analysing the impact a menu change may have on margin and sales mix. Working with internal and external specialists, the role will play an integral part in new systems implementation and development, alongside having a key role in delivering a commercially viable budget, and the management of the long term business plan is also a key responsibility you would hold.
The successful candidate will be a forward looking qualified accountant who is highly motivated with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment to drive results. They will be able to effectively communicate complex data in a simplified meaningful way, while also being able to apply knowledge and creativity to resolve standard and complex issues. Strong financial analysis experience, excellent Excel skills, and having taken on a more commercial role following qualification are all necessary criteria.
