Livability is the disability charity that connects people with their communities. We run disability care services and community projects for all ages. Together and with the people we support, our work aims to put the elements in place that all add up to enabling people to live the life they want to lead. Many people are socially isolated because they face disabling barriers in their lives. Livability works to tackle social isolation by connecting people with their community and providing a range of services designed around their needs, giving them an opportunity to take part, be valued and live a livable life.
Like other charities working in the sector, we are working in a challenging external environment but we remain confident about our charitable purpose and our ambition for the future. Our success relies on clarity regarding the development and delivery of our strategy and a rigorous approach to governance.
The Company Secretary and DPO post holder works closely with both the Executive Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees to ensure that decision making, governance and assurance are effective and that good governance underpins the delivery of the strategy. The role requires a confident and solution-focused leader who can own and drive the governance agenda across the Charity. You will lead a small and committed team as well as working with a range of senior professionals whose roles contribute to compliance. We are on an important transformation journey as an organisation and believe our governance function can make a key contribution to that journey.
If you are a capable, experienced and committed governance professional who can help us embed a best practice approach to assurance, then we would be delighted to hear from you.
