My client is a leading Automotive Distribution business based in Coventry. They are looking for a Warehouse Solutions Design Manager to be responsible for developing new ways of working and to ensure the warehouse is being utilised efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure daily/weekly workload planning and volume forecasting routines are accomplished (i.e. staffing, equipment, warehouse space)
  • Team training and development / succession planning
  • Team building and morale management
  • Manage and deliver operational performance against agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) - Absence Management/Health and Safety compliance etc.
  • Ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for team members
  • Identify and drive operational and functional productivity and process improvements
  • Maximise accuracy, productivity and space utilization
  • Identify cost savings or opportunities
  • Facilitate and Support Change Programmes
  • Planning and maintaining all warehouse layout requirements
  • Planning and maintaining all material management processes and minimum trigger points for all areas within the operation
  • Engineering and implementing all internal logistics processes
  • Effective management and maintenance of systems
  • New model implementation strategy and management of physical implementation
  • Ensuring that the operation is equipped to cope with all changes in production demand throughout the year
  • Liaising with management to discuss and agree planning and implementation strategies
  • Effective management, training and development of all Internal Logistics Planners


The successful candidate will have the following experience;

  • Knowledge of Warehouse Solutions Design or Continuous Improvement
  • Knowledge of Key business processes such as lean manufacturing processes, ISO90002, ISO1400
  • Knowledge of current discipline and grievance procedures

  • Objective setting
  • Budget Management
  • Project implementation and management (Supporting tools/techniques)
  • Presentation Skills - Presenting/Communicating with Impact with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • People Management - Team building, employee engagement, Managing Performance, Training/succession planning/ development/Appraisals/feedback.
  • Problem Solving Skills - Process Improvement techniques, Problem Analysis and resolution
  • Change management skills
  • Competence in CAD design
