Our client is a market leading manufacturer, packer and distributor of FMCG brands in the UK operating in some of the fastest growing categories globally. With a broad customer base and strong brand proposition, the business has attracted Private Equity investment to capitalise on the opportunities presented within its market. The company is looking to appoint a commercial, hands-on CFO who will bring rigour and structure to allow the business to scale and ultimately help lead the exit for the business, which will create significant incremental equity value for themselves and the other shareholders.

As a business partner to the CEO, you will have responsibility for all financial matters relating to the business including bank relationships, interface with the PE investor, recruitment, development and retention of the appropriate resource within the finance team as well as a widening responsibility for operations. The ability to deliver transparency and visibility of business performance through commercial analysis, budget setting, financial controls, cost control, forecasting and monitoring KPIs will be paramount. You will play a full part in business planning, strategy development and commercial input on sales and marketing initiatives as well as developing robust financial models to allow the business to operate at its optimum efficiency.

We are looking for a highly ambitious, energetic, qualified accountant with experience of operating as a standalone FD within a manufacturing business ideally with some FMCG experience. We may also consider a proven PE CFO who has been through an investment lifecycle where we are potentially more sector agnostic. You will have a demonstrable track record of building a strong finance function and in the development and application of KPIs, with excellent financial and management reporting skills. A strong operational understanding, you must be highly analytical in nature coupled with an informal and dynamic style with a willingness to roll your sleeves up to get things done. You will have the desire and ability to add value whilst also challenging colleagues in an effective and appropriate way to facilitate good decision making. A real team player who can work effectively at all levels within the business with strong leadership and people development skills. The ideal candidate will have a track record in Private Equity.

There will be an attractive package for the right candidate to include a competitive basic six figure salary, performance bonus and the usual benefits for a senior executive role. The successful candidate will be invited to subscribe to an equity stake in the business.
