The business has grown consistently and having recently opened its award winning production kitchen at the site of the former Dulcote Quarry in Somerset they are entering their next phase of growth and seeking a Financial Controller to join their finance team based at their head office in Park Royal, North West London.

Job Description

The Financial Controller will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Accounts and Reporting:

  • Preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts together with commentary to support users' understanding, including consolidated accounts (where applicable), weekly/monthly reconciliations, overhead analysis, age debtor analysis and capital spend analysis
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly forecasts including cash-flow forecast, balance sheet and sales analysis
  • Preparation for and leading the monthly review on balance sheet
  • Leading the annual budget process and production of annual budget
  • Assist senior management team in the development and review of strategic plans

Cash and Treasury:

  • Monitor and control cash flow positions and predict future trends
  • Dealing with bank and associated tasks

Controls, process improvement and Other:

  • Be responsible for the receivable and payable ledgers and bank reconciliations
  • Engage with other functions on the control of all balance sheet accounts
  • Responsible for payroll duties i.e. authorisation of payroll, P11Ds etc.
  • Dealing with insurers and maintaining adequate insurance cover
  • Assist in improving ERP system
  • Identify opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of the financial reporting process, internal controls, and policies & procedures, leading implementation as appropriate

Compliance, training and development:

  • Ensure compliance with all tax obligations including production and submission of all information required
  • Manage the external auditing processes
  • Leading and mentoring the team and managing their training and development needs

The Successful Applicant:

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant
  • Demonstrable experience of managing a team including objective setting, performance review and supporting personal growth
  • Experience of working in a financial accounting or reporting role in and FMCG or Food Manufacturing and Production organisation
  • Working knowledge of managing relationships with external parties - auditors, banks, HMRC
  • Demonstrable financial accounting and control knowledge (stats, tax, cash etc.)
  • Excellent IT skills including advanced excel skills
  • Strong organisational skills, accurate with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to manage out workload and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop positive relationships
  • A confident communicator.
  • Results oriented with a 'can do' attitude
  • Experience of Syspro or similar ERP system

What's on Offer

The Financial Controller will be based in the Park Royal Manufacturing and Production site and the position comes with a competitive basic salary of £50,000-£60,000 dependant on experience, plus bonus and benefits.
