Senior Social Impact Director
Big Society Capital (BSC)
London

£70k-£80k per annum

Big Society Capital (BSC) improves the lives of people in the UK by connecting social investment to charities and social enterprises. Our work is focused on intentional contribution to impact solutions with the aim of delivering systemic change, often in new, unexplored or under-served markets. By engaging with investors, fund managers, charities and social enterprises to make it easier to use social investment to create social impact we have made over £1.25bn of new capital available to organisations with a social mission.

Earlier this year, we launched our new strategy focusing on the provision of homes for people in need; supporting communities to improve lives; and early action to prevent problems.

We already have a thorough grounding in our impact practice. Our challenge is to build on that foundation, and to create the beacon standard for high quality, clear, transparent and aggregated impact information critical to the future of social impact investment. To that end, we are now looking for a Senior Social Impact Director.

Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, you will lead the effort to make social impact management a central tool across our investments and portfolio. Working with intermediaries and front-line organisations to help them to highlight the impact of their work to support the development of the market as a whole, you will be a key driver of our success.

Given the need for this individual to work effectively across the whole of BSC’s portfolio, the ability to work openly and collaboratively in order to achieve significant and lasting change in a complex, multi-stakeholder, multi-system environment will be vital. You should be able to point to a demonstrable track record of working at a strategic level in a relevant field such as evaluation, social policy, social or impact investment of social enterprise.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of a highly influential organisation which leads the field globally, driving improvements to social impact management at the centre of the social investment market. If you would like to find out more, please visit our microsite: www.greeen-park-jobs.co.uk/bsc

Closing date for applications: Midday, Thursday 4 October 2018
