Director of Financial Planning & Analysis

Due to an internal promotion, we are now seeking a new Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to join the growing corporate HQ. The role will provide significant exposure to the executive management team with the main purpose of leading the group financial planning process. Managing a small, but very capable team, you will lead the corporation's business financial planning cycle, including the consolidation of short and long term forecasts for the corporate centre and will support on regular ad-hoc projects. The role will require you to develop concise, insightful analysis of historical and projected performance to present to executive management, investors and the board directors. You will review any major investment proposals and manage the company's investment committee, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and analysis including a better use of technology and analytical techniques. In addition you will mobilise the finance team to deal effectively with changes to the group structure, including supporting M&A project work as well as leading the FP&A forum to co-ordinate activities and implement best practice company wide.
The successful candidate will be a graduate, qualified accountant, either having trained within a public practice or through the equivalent graduate training programme in a FTSE listed company. Previous FP&A experience is essential preferably in a group or potentially a regional or divisional capacity. You will have expertise in both accounting and financial analysis and be able to demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate operating results whilst providing unique insight through ad-hoc analysis. The progressive environment requires a results driven individual who can demonstrate proven success in managing projects with a sense of urgency, good judgment and business sense, whilst maintaining a collaborative, team orientated approach. Another key requirement is the ability to prioritize and effectively handle several assignments, often working under tight deadlines and balancing delegation with hands-on involvement. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to effectively communicate with either individuals or groups of people at all levels in the organisation.
