A leading global specialist Insurance organisation seeks an experienced Digital Programme Manager/Platform Lead to join their Birmingham office and act as a Digital Workforce platform owner for the platform strategy, design, development, enhancement, delivery, pricing and cost recovery.

This position is transformational and will be all about introducing new infrastructure, transforming existing workforce digitally, hence they require someone who has worked on projects of this nature before.

Their aim is to optimise the way projects are delivered and supported, transitioning the organization from a traditional project management approach to a platform management approach.

Platforms align around a set of related business outcomes and package together all the people, processes, technology, and information required to enable the realization of those business outcomes.

As a Digital Workforce Platform Lead you will:

  • Create the strategy and vision of the Digital Workforce Platform
  • Consult with the Digital Workforce Platform owner and consumers to assess and anticipate current and future Platform requirements and develops a long-term action plan
  • Work with stakeholders to continually optimize the governance and decision-making processes within the Digital Workforce Platform
  • Develop service-level agreements for the Platforms' business outcomes
  • Build and attract technology talent for the Digital Workforce Platform team
  • Collaborate with business partners to determine the right Platform cost model and facilitate demand planning and management conversations
  • Coordinate with business, data, and IT architects to align Digital Workforce Platform and other architectures
  • Oversee Digital Workforce Platform operations and guides continuous improvement efforts to support business outcomes
  • Acts as the point of contact for the Digital Workforce Platform and works closely with business owners, IT advocates and IT functional leads as required

Required skills/experience:

  • Strong business understanding and ability to work in partnership with the business
  • Strong Digital Programme & Project Management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage IT and non-IT projects with demonstrated delivery of business value and pursuit of quality
  • Experienced change manager, able to understand and advise on how to implement process, IT and people changes while minimising the IT and related business change delivery risks
  • Understanding of business strategy and the work of the teams within the customer organisation
  • Able to identify and help the business to assess options and solutions that best fit business requirements
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience of Budget Management greater than $2m
  • Previous significant experience of delivering multiple complex IT projects, preferably covering the use of internal resources, third party (packaged) solutions and outsourced services
