Director of Corporate Resources
Celebrating its 225th anniversary this year, Royal Blind is the world’s oldest national institution for blind people which serves children and adults. Scottish War Blinded support veterans of the armed forces who have significant vision impairment. Together they operate as the Royal Blind Group, focused on developing people’s skills and resources for independent living, as well as assisting them in fulfilment of their aspirations.
To support an ambitious programme of change focused on increasing both organisations’ overall impact, the Royal Blind Group is now looking to recruit the newly created role of Director of Corporate Resources.
With overall responsibility for the strategic development and operational success of the corporate functions of Royal Blind and Scottish War Blinded, you will ensure the consistent planning and delivery of strategic objectives, and lead and manage the Finance, HR, IT, Governance and Estates and Buildings functions. Working as a core part of the senior management team you will directly contribute to the strategic decision-making process and delivery of both organisations’ strategic plans.
Providing individual and collegiate leadership to the development and implementation of financial, people, technology and property strategies, you will ensure staff and systems remain focused on supporting front line service delivery. Working collaboratively with the Director of Services and the Director of Scottish War Blinded, you will ensure a strong synergy between service planning and development, and financial and resource planning.
You will be an inspiring, solutions focused and forward-thinking leader with relevant experience of directly managing multidisciplinary teams, coupled with a strong track record in developing and delivering strategy. You should also be able to show evidence of successful strategic and operational resource management. With the ability to establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, it is also imperative you can demonstrate previous involvement in leading change, innovation and organisational development. The ability to utilise technology, both existing and emerging, to deliver performance improvements coupled with experience of risk management and corporate governance activities will both be directly relevant to delivering success in this role.
This role will provide the successful candidate with a rare opportunity within the third sector in Scotland to play a key part in an inspirational story which links a long and proud history to modern cutting-edge services and support.
