Edinburgh BioQuarter is a leading health and science campus which brings together young, growing, and established life science companies, the esteemed Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh run by NHS Lothian, the world-renowned University of Edinburgh’s medical teaching school and many of its award-winning health and bioinformatics research institutes. It is a partnership between the City of Edinburgh Council, NHS Lothian, Scottish Enterprise and the University of Edinburgh.
The planned investment by the Edinburgh BioQuarter (EBQ) Partnership over the next five years will strengthen considerably EBQ’s clinical, research and development capabilities, offering new commercial opportunities as a result.
A dynamic, experienced Executive Director is now being sought to work very closely with all partners and have the lead role in the delivery of the vision and objectives set out by the Partners Strategy Board. This will include the further development, and delivery of the strategy for the EBQ, and to maximise the opportunities for collaboration across healthcare, academic and commercial sectors, in order to secure its position as a globally leading science park and academic healthcare campus. Central to this is finalising and delivering the business plan for the site, including identification of potential external funding opportunities, from private and/or public sectors. The Executive Director will be regarded both internally and externally as the leader of Edinburgh BioQuarter and will play a key role in developing, influencing and maintaining a large number of key partner and stakeholder relationships around a common vision.
The successful candidate will bring vision and drive as well as a track record in business development and managing large, complex multi-stakeholder projects with a mixture of public and private sector participants.
