An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this highly successful organisation in this newly created role. The company is the UK division of an international technology / engineering plc and the role will report to the Group Financial Controller.

Following a number of recent strategic acquisitions, a programme of integration / transformation is under way and the successful candidate will play a key role in moving this forward. Your principal responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the monthly financial / management accounts production process
  • Identify and deliver opportunities to enhance core processes and controls
  • Provide coaching and support to a small developing team
  • Provide robust Balance Sheet and other key controls reviews
  • Deliver accurate cash reporting and forecasting complete with variance analysis
  • Support commercial managers with quality finance business partnering
  • Be a catalyst for continuous improvement supporting the overall transformation
  • Harness systems, technology and information to promote smarter working
  • Building strong working relationships with a variety of internal stakeholders

Initially you will at times need to be very hands on to support and develop from the ground up. Over time this will develop as staff, systems and processes evolve. The successful candidate will therefore need the following attributes:

  • Qualified accountant with a genuinely hands on approach
  • Strong experience of Group / Divisional reporting and controls
  • Experience with cash reporting / forecasting
  • Ideally some existing Financial Controllership experience
  • Clear evidence of commercial / business "Value Add" experience / initiative
  • Strong communicator who is able to influence and drive change
  • Strong systems / IT skills including advanced Excel
  • Great people manager who is prepared to coach and develop talent
  • Flexibility to travel (UK) periodically
