DC General Manager - 8 month Interim 

Our client, a leading retail business, are recruiting for an Interim General Manager to lead their busy operation in Northamptonshire for an interim period of 8 months. Experience of managing large scale multi-channel retail operations is desirable. Competitive day rate on offer.

Our client are a leading omni-channel retailer based in Northamptonshire.

Description:

  • Manage the site operations and facilities including security, contracts, maintenance etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all H&S, operational and budgetary requirements
  • Create and lead an operations and logistics strategy to deliver a best-in class site and services to support our business plan
  • Create a road-map with key milestones that delivers the operational strategy
  • Set and implement objectives through the structure that flows from the top down in supporting the business and site direction
  • Partner with key stakeholders such as commercial and shipping to manage the site throughput to balance capacity and order fulfilment
  • Create a learning environment to support the development of the team, providing succession plans and a culture in line with the brand
  • Embed a continuous improvement methodology throughout the site to optimise the site whilst reducing the cost base
  • Develop a robust DC structure that future proof the site and services for the business growth plan, offering development and career paths to support the learning ethos

Profile:

  • Experience operating at GM level with extensive background in distribution and logistics, preferably in a multi-channel environment
  • Proven track record of building relationships with key stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of process analysis, benefit analysis and first-hand improvement implementation from idea to deployment and review
  • Leadership skills with ability to mentor and coach the team
  • Qualification or working experience of lean six-sigma or similar CI methodology (advantageous)
  • Extensive people skills heavily anchored in values and standards. Ability to manage all processes from recruitment to disciplinaries
