Group Financial Controller
Oxford Policy Management (OPML) is an international development consultancy that is committed to helping low- and middle-income countries achieve growth and reduce poverty and disadvantage through public policy reform. We started with a team of just four people within the University of Oxford, working on agricultural issues in sub-Saharan Africa.
We have grown over four decades to support governments across the world in a wide range of sectors in over 100 countries. Today, we work in all areas of social and economic policy and governance, including health, finance, education, climate change, and public sector management.
Our approach is to focus on high impact social projects that bring through lasting, positive change. Through our global offices, we work in partnership with national decision makers to diagnose policy problems, develop public policy, support its implementation, and evaluate its impact.
The role of Group Financial Controller is a key hire for the business. We are looking for a commercially-minded, ambitious senior finance professional who can work collaboratively with the CFO to deliver an agenda of change management within finance.
We have identified a number of key areas for development and growth within finance, but expect this individual to come and identify a project plan to carry out a review of all financial controls within HQ and at country office level.
Finance needs to be at the heart of all decision-making and you will have an opportunity to deliver demonstrable improvements in the way we work, whilst being supported in your professional development in a social focused organisation.
We are looking for a fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with in-depth experience of working at a senior level, having managed all areas of finance both centrally and collaboratively across international sites.
You will have experience of developing a finance function to create 'best in class' and will have good project management skills to support this.
