Adjacency is recruiting a Director of Tax to take full responsibility for the EMEA Region of a privately owned Global Organisation with turnover of circa £4.5 billion. This newly created role is a great opportunity for a world class Tax Professional to join a team of industry leaders from across the globe.  The role is offering a salary of up to £120,000 plus executive benefits.

Strongly believing that their people, not just their products, are the secret to their success, our client is proud of their diversity and the quality of work challenge and life balance they can offer their people at all levels. Being privately owned they are able to invest and plan for the long term – you don’t get that in a listed company.

You will have the autonomy to stamp your mark in a successful corporate environment; maintaining existing practices and introducing best practice recommendations to continually improve the discipline. It is a platform to increase the profile and importance of corporate tax; developing a career in a superb organisation and shaping/building an already well respected team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the EMEA Region’s corporate tax affairs including all aspects of corporate tax compliance, tax reporting and input into acquisitions and long term strategy
  • Optimise the Group's corporate tax position through tax planning, efficient use of tax attributes and identifying new opportunities
  • Develop systems and procedures for the accumulation and analysis of data necessary for the preparation of EMEA compliance requirements for foreign subsidiaries
  • Keep abreast of current and proposed tax laws and regulations and their impact on worldwide corporate programs giving guidance for implementation of actions to achieve a more favourable tax environment in the EMEA and international jurisdictions
  • To advice and counsel management of tax compliance requirements as they affect management decisions by reviewing, recommending and, where required, establishing procedures and methods of doing business
  • Lead the Region on Transfer Pricing policies and initiatives including review of proposed intra-group charges and documentation and proactive monitoring of margins earned by group companies, ensuring compliance with global transfer pricing requirements
  • Lead the process for Country by Country reporting; assisting overseas subsidiaries with tax compliance and transactional issues
  • Maintain awareness of International tax issues and consider how they impact the Region
  • Maintain good HMRC relationships and deal with any HMRC audits and enquiries

Key attributes of the individual sought:

  • Graduate calibre, ideally with Big 4 experience and a relevant professional qualification
  • Excellent technical knowledge with the ability to communicate technical matters effectively and explain their implications to a varied audience
  • Experience of different European Tax jurisdictions in a large corporate environment
  • Self-motivated, responsive and proactive in managing all aspects of the role
  • An energetic character with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Collaborative style with tactful influencing and persuasion skills
