Our client is a Private Equity firm who have invested in a very successful luxury retail brand that was born in Asia. The founder is a talented designer who has sold his pieces to celebrities and royalty alike. Since the brand originated 8 years ago, they have delivered collections and bespoke designs to clients worldwide. They now have retail space in Asia, London, Paris, Russia and the Middle East but with the new investment, want to escalate growth in new markets. To achieve this, they are looking to hire a CEO to be based in either London or Singapore.

The CEO will ideally come from a Sales & Marketing background, but be able to manage finance, human resources, production, supply chain, distribution channels, marketing/PR, product design and administration matters. They will work closely with the Deputy GMs in the London and Singapore offices to create a strategy for the brand.

Other responsibilities of the CEO include:

  • Establishing and evaluating KPIs for respective departments, including sales commission schemes for front office staff
  • Oversee the finance team, including reviewing and analysing financial statements, budget, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing costs management and operations improvement
  • Oversee group tax reporting, including optimising tax efficiency and ensuring tax compliance in all markets of operations
  • Expand and manage distribution channels to grow sales, including retail store management, events management and e-commerce strategy
  • Evaluate and implement overall sales commission and other terms of arrangement for stockist, partners and collaboration arrangements
  • Oversee Marketing and PR to increase brand recognition including digital marketing
  • Implement company-wide systems such as ERP and CRM

The successful CEO will ideally come from a luxury retail background and have experience in brand management covering supply chain, marketing/PR, growing distribution channels and development of processes and policies. They must possess strong business acumen, be highly analytical and able to present and promote ideas. Although they will work with the founder and private equity investment team, the CEO must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and be sensitive to differing cultures, as the teams are split between London and Singapore. They will also be required to travel to Europe and beyond, working with clients directly.
