StepChange is an essential part of the UK financial landscape, helping 1 in every 100 people in the UK each year to manage their problem debts. With over 4.5 million website visits, 620,000 individuals helped and over 300,000 people going through full advice we are helping some of the most vulnerable in society to be more financially stable through advice, education and solutions. As an FCA regulated entity we currently have in excess of £4.5 billion of distressed debt under management. With exciting growth opportunities, a new strategic plan and a new CEO, our impact is set to double of the next 4 years.

StepChange is now seeking to appoint a new Chair, as Sir Hector Sants is moving to Chair the Single Financial Guidance Body, and three trustees, as part of board progression.

The Chair

StepChange is passionate about creating a society free from problem debt, and the Chair will share this passion for the cause, and an understanding and sympathy for those struggling with problem debt. They will bring relevant experience of chairing boards or senior committees, and experience as a trustee, and show strong leadership instincts and governance skills. Because StepChange is regulated by the FCA experience in a highly regulated environment, and of influencing at senior levels, are an advantage.
