IT Security Manager - SecOps, Infrastructure - Global Client

I am representing a client for a search of an IT Security Manager, to oversee IT Security Operations and Infrastructure within the business. This is a newly formed role, reporting directly into the Head of IT and managing a team of two direct reports.

As the IT Security Manager, you will act as the technical authority to the Senior Leadership Team and the glue between the technical environment, evaluating technical proposals from external suppliers, and make implementation recommendations to senior stakeholders.

As the IT Security Manager, you would need to have come from a technical Infrastructure background and moved into an IT Security management role, within the last few years (with a keen desire to develop your career within IT/Information Security).

Description

The IT Security Manager responsibilities is split across two core areas; IT Security & Infrastructure.

IT Security: 60%

  • Threat and Vulnerability management process oversight and communicate threat and vulnerability observations clearly to leaders and subject matter experts
  • Oversee the IT systems risk assessments and control validation
  • Initiate, facilitate, and promote activities to create information security awareness within the company
  • Oversee vendor due diligence and third-party risk management
  • Develop security metrics and produce security reporting including dashboard
  • Coordinate stakeholders across the business to socialise and drive change regarding IT compliance and risk management
  • Supports internal and external audit activities (and remediation)
  • Ensure the ongoing integration of information security architecture with business strategies and privacy requirements
  • Research and implement new technologies as required to support the ever changing security landscape

Infrastructure: 40%

  • Perform server and security audits to ensure integrity of data and associated peripherals
  • Develop strategies for client/server implementations; architect the infrastructure required to support these strategies. This includes Microsoft Active Directory architecture; developing, configuring and maintaining group policies, scripting, security permissions and security groups
  • Work closed with the Technology Leader to ensure that new and updated platforms, products and transactions are thoroughly tested for performance
  • Lead, co-ordinate and participate in key process improvements as they relate to the client/server environment
  • Liaise with and provide training and support to desktop support staff on infrastructure issues; Manage and improve the Change Control process for all internal and third party

Please note, this is a IT Security centric role and you will be supported by a team of two direct reports who will pick up day to day infrastructure services.

Profile

As the IT Security Manager, you would need to have come from a technical Infrastructure background and moved into an IT Security management role, within the last few years (with a keen desire to develop your career within IT/Information Security)

  • Operational IT Security - Knowledge of IT security and infrastructure is necessary for this role; This would include knowledge of network security, infrastructure, malware protection, firewalls, endpoint encryption, mobile device management (MDM), SIEM, intrusion threat detection/protection (IPS/IDS), running penetration tests and networking (windows/linux)
  • Incident management & Incident Response
  • Security awareness - Driving security awareness across the organisation nationally. Including, producing and delivering security training material and security awareness campaigns
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills. Communicate, evangelise and promote Information Security/IT at all levels (both technical and non-technical stakeholders)
  • A strong technical background of working within infrastructure/networks (servers, networks, telephony, desktops)
  • Able to manage and monitor the architecture and development of the infrastructure
  • Demonstrable background in working closely with outsource party/3rd party vendors

The salary on offer for this IT Security Manager role, is between £48,000 - 55,000, based in St Albans and reports directly into the Head of IT.

Salary: £48,000 - 55,000

Car Allowance: £6,000 (as cash)

Bonus Guaranteed: 10%
